I was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1965 with a degree in Political Science. My husband was in the Air Force at Chanute AFB in central Illinois. When he retired from the service, we came to Madison so he could go to school at the University of Wisconsin. I worked for the State of WI for over 30 years. Fitchburg became our home more than 40 years ago.

I have been involved with several members of my extended family in Illinois and other states in developing our family recollections of past events. My interest in stories from the past continued when I joined the Fitchburg Historical Society many years ago. Some of my research contributed to the book “Fitchburg, A History”. Learning more about Fitchburg WI has been rewarding because it has contributed to helping preserve Fitchburg’s unique identity and history.
