The list below contains the names of the Town Chairs and Mayors of Fitchburg, Wisconsin including the Town Chairs of Greenfield, the name used before the town name was changed to Fitchburg. The list is in chronological order with new entries added every time a new Chair or Mayor was elected. In many cases a new Town Chair was elected every year, especially in the late 1800s. Town Chairs frequently served several non-concurrent one-year terms with Philip Barry serving 6 non-concurrent terms spanning 1872 to 1895 and Hiram Vroman serving 5 non-concurrent terms spanning 1877 to 1912.
