Philip Barry, the son of Michael Barry, settled the centennial Barry farm in 1870 (see 1873 plate map section 34). The centennial farm, registered in 1971, is located in the Southwest quarter of the NW quarter of section 34 (1955 plat map above upper right) although Philip and his descendants had owned considerably more land at various times (1890 plat map above upper left). An old aerial photograph (above lower left) shows the farm buildings. The house, barn, shed and driveway can still be recognized on a recent satellite image of the farm buildings at 5526 County Highway M (above lower right).
