Edward Jones began serving clients in Fitchburg in December 1999 when Rob Waterman opened his office in the Hatchery Hill Plaza. Waterman greeted the community with an open house the following spring, which featured over 75 local residents, The Mayor, City Manager, and Economic Development Director. Waterman hired Stephanie Blankenheim as his Branch Office Administrator in 2001. The two paired together to serve Fitchburg until 2018.

Serving and giving back to their local communities has always been encouraged by Edward Jones. Waterman was a regular program presenter at The Fitchburg Senior Center from 2000-2016, including being named a Board of Director for Friends of the Fitchburg Senior Center in 2016.

In 2006, Waterman was named “Broker of the Year” by Edward Jones in a 10-county region. In 2008, Waterman and Blankenheim were recognized as “Top Financial Advisor and Branch Office Administrator” team for Client Service Excellence. Both were named Limited Partners in the firm for their work.

Since 2003, Edward Jones in Fitchburg has been recognized as a top contributor for the Allied Drive Food Pantry and Toys for Tots.

His retirement created opportunities for new offices to be launched. The first office to open was at 5510 Nobel Drive, where Denise Faust currently assists clients. Brad Stepp launched his office at 5950 Seminole Centre in 2018. Stephanie Blankenheim took over for Waterman at 2990 Cahill Main, also in 2018. Matt Miron moved his Edward Jones office to Fitchburg from Madison in 2017. In 2019, Alex Fowler joined the Fitchburg Edward Jones group opening up an office at 2935 S Fish Hatchery Rd.
