Edwin Benet, owner and operator, opened Fitchburg Cycles in March of 2014.   A long-time veteran in the bicycle business, and a Fitchburg resident, he saw Fitchburg was an ideal place to open a bicycle store.  Fitchburg, which had turned old rail tracks into bicycle/pedestrian paths that crisscrossed Fitchburg in all directions and its many subdivisions with local parks provided ideal opportunities for bike riders of all ages. The store gives that person attention that is lacking in big box stores and provides full service from helping to select the best bike for a particular need to quick bike repairs and safety checks. The store is also close to several bike trails, has ample parking and even has a changing room to make it easy for groups to gather at the store before setting out on the many trails.
