Thad Schumacher opened his Fitchburg Family Pharmacy in 2013 to give a personal touch for those needing prescriptions filled.  In April 2018 he moved to a large place to accommodate his growing business and to gain greater visibility.  Unlike the major chain store pharmacies, Fitchburg Family Pharmacy does much more than fill prescriptions.  They have private rooms where customers can speak with a doctor via video feed and then the customers can work with pharmacists on medications. They make free same day deliveries to most of Madison and Middleton and even take calls when the pharmacy is closed. They help patients who struggle keeping track of their medication schedule and have Spanish translation for the Latino community.  Besides running the pharmacy Schumacher works to raise money for local organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County and the Fitchburg Public Library.
