Peter Ganshert started Ganshert Nursey & Landscapes in 1951 with a pickup truck and a wheelbarrow at his home across from St. Mary’s Hospital.  Ganshert concentrated on planting design and installation and brought in his 6-year-old son Paul to the business where Paul got 25 cents for weeding each row in the nursery.  Peter Ganshert moved his business to Seminole Highway about a mile from the Beltline where they had a 2 acre nursery.  The neighbors could not understand why he was not planting corn.

Paul Ganshert graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1980 with a degree in landscape architecture and began running the business.  He expanded the business and started doing some landscape construction. They moved the business to its current location on Lacy Road and continued to expand their services including renovating existing landscapes, building retaining and decorative walls, installing paver and natural stone driveways, walks, and patios as well as constructing ponds and fountains.  They also construct privacy fencing, decks, pergolas, gazebos, arbors and trellises.

They currently have a professional staff trained and certified in landscape architect, landscape industry certified manager, landscape designers, horticulturalist, certified paver installers and certified lighting installers.  Ganshert Nursery & Landscapes is large enough to provide professional landscaping services and small enough to personalize your experience.
