The origins of Kelly-Moss Road & Race began when Madison business man Rich Moskalik, a Porsche enthusiast and his wife Kathy Kellogg were at their St Petersburg, FL home and had their Porsches serviced.  David Stone, who had been racing of various types for many years was working at the GM service department and noticed that the modifications done on the Porsches were not very well done.  He mentioned this to Moskalik and was told to do the modifications properly. Impressed, Moskalik asked Stone to come to Madison to inspect his Madison Porsches and to start a Porsche racing team.  In May 1988 they established Kelly-Moss Motorsports.  Later that year Stone bought the company.

Moskalik enjoyed driving in track time events and David did the maintenance and transporting the cars.  They hired the best race car drivers they could find to teach them the fine points in racing and worked with a group from St Louis.  In 1989 they had their first race and won. They remained very successful with Moskalik and numerous other racers driving their Porsches. During this period David’s younger brother Jeff joined the team and became part owner with his brother.  In 1992, they decided to use Madison as their sole base of operations.  In 1993 Porsche supplied two chars but the year was a disaster.  Fortunately, Porsche supplied two more cars in 1994 and it was a stellar year.

1995 was a new era for Kelly-Moss Motersports when they finally turned their company into a real business. They introduced the concept of “Arrive and Drive”.  Many amateur racers enjoyed racing but did not have a lot of time.  They began a full service red carpet driving experience where they would service and transport the race cars across the country to race tracks.

By 2012 Kelly-Moss Motorsports had moved from their small Madison address to a new 55,000 square foot facility in Fitchburg.  They offered a European Road Car department, full paint and collision department, all wheel drive chassis dyno, engine dyno, fabrication department, composite shop and more.

Kelly-Moss Motorsports is now under the umbrella of The AutoPlex as a full service Road and Racing facility.  It includes KM Auto Body, Stone Brothers Garage-Radical Rides, The Mirage Group and SignEdge Graphics working on just about everything a customer with a dream might want.
